"I’m Mae Albiento, 34, a consultant and social entrepreneur
I joined carousell mainly to sell personal stuff that I don’t use anymore. As a social entrepreneur, I’m also selling weave pouches/wallets handmade by mothers of sugarcane child laborers in Negros Occidental which are made from upcycled rags/clothes.
Carousell has helped me realize that things that I don’t use anymore which I used to just throw away may still be valuable to other people. This way, I am able to reduce the trash I produce and earn money at the same time. Carousell isn’t just a thriving marketplace, it helps people like me live more earth-friendly by encouraging us to recycle/ reuse things rather than throw away or buy new stuff."
